Research<\/h2>\n

In my laboratory, we view the world at the molecular level with a bent toward reproductive processes. Bromate occurs in reverse osmosis desalinated seawater after disinfection with UV, ozone or chlorine. Bromate causes renal, thyroid and testicular cancer in rats. We are examining changes in gene expression and proteomics in rats treated with sub-carcinogenic doses of bromate in drinking water. We hope to assist regulatory agencies in setting allowable exposures to people who may consume reverse osmosis water over their entire life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
