Steven M. Fountain is Coordinator of Native American Programs at WSUV, was a Diversity Faculty Fellow for 2013-14 and 2014-15, and received the John Topham and Susan Redd Butler Faculty Research Award from the Redd Center for Western Studies in 2009-2010. He teaches courses in Early American History (HIST 110, 413, 414, & 415), Environmental History (HIST 409 & 494), and Native American History (HIST 308). He also serves as the Faculty Advisor for the WSUV History Club and Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors).<\/p>\n

Dr. Fountain grew up in Oregon and began teaching history in 1992 as a high school social studies teacher in the Willamette Valley. After a lengthy circuit that included Illinois, Nebraska, California, and finally the Pacific Northwest again, he has resumed his habit of hiking and climbing whenever possible.
